Steve Hodges

Following and early introduction into all things sailing related through attending The London Nautical School in the mid 1990's I took a break from the sport while building a career in IT, having a family and playing club level rugby.

After an extended break I then reengaged with the sport after relocating to Chatham, Kent and participating in a number of training courses and accreditation's with Elite Sailing

Now a qualified RYA Cruising instructor, I have passed every RYA sailing certification on the route to being a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore and have also completed the theory element of the RYA  Yachtmaster Ocean certification.

We are very much a sailing family, while I have owned a number of yachts over the years we now have the good fortune of owning our own Beneteau Cyclades 39.9 predominantly sailing around the UK and French coasts.

I am also currently signed up to do Leg 2 of the Clipper Round the World Race in 2023 (was 2021 until the COVID 19 pandemic) sailing 4,200 miles from South America to South America. Although given the list of other things to do over the next few years, this decision is currently hanging in the balance and might be put off until future years.

Available for instruction and deliveries this blog just details some of my social trips and details of some of my sailing related antics.
