Adventure Sailing - 9 Day - Channel Islands Discovery
Our popular Channel Islands Discovery trip is a sailing adventure not to be missed. Giving you 2 x 120nm passages, 2 x channel crossings, 2 x overnight passages (where you'll experience being part of a watch system). You'll also enjoy several day sails as we island-hop around the Channel Islands where you'll have the opportunity to visit some of the gems of the Channel Islands which are hard to visit by other means, including the tiny yet beautiful islands of Sark, Herm, Alderney and larger island of Guernsey.
Weather and tide dependent, on your 9 day Channel Islands sailing adventure you can expect…

Friday (Day one)
Join boat at 4.30pm in Eastbourne, where you'll setle in to your cabin, receive a
full safety briefing and passage plan. We will set sail on Friday evening for an overnight passage across the channel, bound for Alderney. Note this passage will take approx 24hrs, and we will operate a watch system to ensure everyone gets lots of rest.

Saturday (Day two)
Arrive at Braye Harbour, Alderney at around 6pm. Once ashore, you'll discover a variety of welcoming pubs and restaurants to enjoy. As the third largest of the Channel Islands, Alderney offers a perfect introduction to 'Island Life.' We'll be moored here for two nights.

Sunday (Day three)
Day and overnight on Alderney. During the day there are plenty of opportunities to explore. You could hire an e-bike, to the local single rail train, visit one of the many forts, spend the day at the beach - there is plenty to do and see on this beautiful island, including the opportunity to see a busy Gannetry off the coast. (Note a complete loop of the island by e-bike takes approx 2-3 hours)

Monday (Day four)
Depart Alderney (9am), and head to Sark. Here we will stay on anchor, and can get ashore by tender (be sure to bring spare clothes in your shore bag, as Sark beaches are notorious for giving you a welcome 'soaking' as you arrive!) Once ashore there are private beaches, horse and carriage rides (there's no cars on Sark), local pubs, beautiful walks, sea swimming, charming shops that stock hand-crafted goods. This is an absolute gem of an island, and you'll feel like you're really on an adventure and discovering somewhere that not many people have had the opportunity to visit.

Tuesday (Day five)
After weighing anchor we'll head a few miles West to the charming island of Herm. Herm is smaller than Sark, and is famous for its incredible sandy beaches (which are largely empty), and it's beautiful scenery. You'll be able to walk around the island in a couple of hours, taking in the sites and marvelling at the tranquil island life. On Herms there's a couple of shops and a good pub. There's also shower facilities.

Wednesday (Day six)
We'll decide between another day on Herm or a return to Sark. Either way we'll enjoy a night on anchor.

Thursday (Day seven)
On Thursday we'll leave Sark/Herm and make a short passage (1 - 1.5hrs) to the larger Island of Guernsey. In Guernsey we will stay in a marina at St Peter's Port, overlooked by the bustling town and a fantastic yacht club. There are plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants to visit, and there's lots to see and do on Guernsey including the infamous war tunnels. We will have access to full facilities at the marina.

Friday (Day eight)
After spending the morning exploring all that St Peter's Port and the island of Guernsey has to offer, we'll have a beautiful sail north in the afternoon, sailing approx 20nm and experiencing the thrill of the lively Alderney Race. We'll head into Braye on Alderney for our final night, where we'll enjoy an evening meal before slipping lines in the morning.

Saturday & Sunday (Day nine)
We'll slip lines after breakfast and enjoy a beautiful sail North, crossing the channel bound for Eastbourne. As night falls we'll enter a watch system, so that everyone can enjoy some rest through the night, while those on deck marvel at the star-filled sky and enjoy the thrill of sailing through the night.
We will arrive back into Eastbourne at approx 10am on Sunday morning, where we'll clean the boat and say our goodbyes with a warm feeling inside, new friendships made and one incredible adventure ticked off.
